Right-of-way work powers up this spring

Truck doing tree trimming

As warmer weather arrives, you will begin to see Noble REMC’s right-of-way (ROW) crew clearing tree limbs and vegetation growing too close to power lines. Their work is essential to providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to our members.

To prevent outages — especially during storms —crews remove anything within the required clearance area around energized lines. Without regular maintenance, branches can blow into lines and cause dangerous and costly service interruptions.

Our ROW team also sprays vegetation around pole bases to keep access clear for lineworkers and trucks when responding to projects or outage restoration.

If you wish to manage the right-of-way on your own property, “Do Not Spray” signs are available at the Noble REMC office. Signs must be visible from the roadway, and you’ll need to notify us of your location.

We appreciate your cooperation as our crews work to maintain clearance around 1,273 miles of energized line — helping protect public safety and ensure reliable service for you, our members.
