Annual Meeting focuses on next 90 years

While we’re celebrating 90 years of service this year, our Annual Meeting focused on how we continue to succeed for the next 90.

Our Annual Meeting was broadcast on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram on June 11, after members voted on our board of directors by mail. The meeting reinforced our commitment to you, our members.

Our purpose now and in the future is where it’s always been: our members and community. With you at the forefront of every decision, we will move forward with a focus on ensuring affordability and reliability of service.

“We know many families and businesses in our community are feeling the strain of rising costs, and we understand how important it is to keep electric bills as affordable as possible,” CEO Brad McCrea said. “That’s why we work every day to manage the costs we can control and use resources wisely, before asking more of the members we serve.”

Board Chair Bill Knox ended the meeting by announcing the board of directors’ election results.

He thanked those who were willing to run and serve their community in such a capacity, before announcing all three candidates running for the Noble REMC Board of Directors — himself, District 4; Joe Hutsell, District 5; and newcomer, Jacob Griffiths, District 9 — were elected to their respective positions.

The Annual Meeting will continue to be available across all Noble REMC social media platforms to ensure all members have the opportunity to watch at their convenience.

REMC thanks Ott, welcomes Griffiths

Director Larry Ott has served District 9, those in the south-central area of our territory, since 2017, but earlier this year, he decided to retire from the board after nine years in the position.

When he originally ran for the board, such a position wasn’t even on his radar, previously saying, “I just never even gave it a thought. One thing led to another, so I decided to go ahead and run — and I’m glad I did.”

And we’re glad he did. Ott served our membership with integrity and with a determination to learn all he could. We appreciate that service and the high standard he leaves behind. Thank you, Larry!

Now, Jake Griffiths will be taking his seat on the board. A small business owner and farm operator, his focus is on ensuring the success of the cooperative for years to come.
