Heat Pump Rebate
There are two geothermal and air source heat pump incentive programs available from Noble REMC or Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA), the wholesale power supplier to Noble REMC.
First, is the WVPA rebate for removal of resistance electric heat such as baseboard, ceiling cable, electric furnace or an old heat pump. This program, which ends November 15, offers rebates for replacement of these units with geothermal or air source heat pumps which meet certain energy criteria. That criteria is outlined on the heat pump rebate application.
The goal of the WVPA rebate program is to reduce demand on the electric grid by replacing high demand systems with very energy efficient heating and cooling systems.
The application can be downloaded, and all required information must be included before sending into Noble REMC for processing. This rebate comes in the form of an energy credit on your bill.
The second incentive program is a rebate from Noble REMC (via energy credit) is for the installation of geothermal or air source systems in new home construction or for replacement of a gas furnace. You may use the same heat pump rebate application as above, however, we require less information for this program. Contact Energy Advisor Rex Shisler for specific information required for this application. You may contact him at 260-636-2113 or 800-933-7362.
The rebate amount, for qualifying units are:
Geothermal: $150 per ton installed capacity
Air Source: $125 per ton installed capacity
Maximum of 10 tons and only single family residential homes are available for these programs. Approval of the WVPA resistance heat change out rebate is at the sole discretion of WVPA. Rebates will come in the form of an energy credit.
Clothes Washer Rebate
If your clothes washer is over 10 years old, it could be costing you more than just your favorite sweater. In fact, you could be paying about $135 more each year on your utility bills than if you had an ENERGY STAR® qualified clothes washer. A S50 rebate is being offered by Noble REMC now through November 15 to eligible members, helping you upgrade to a more efficient ENERGY STAR qualified washer. Not bad for doing what’s good. Need more reasons? Read on.
- Stop agitating your laundry:
Never have your clothes ruined in the wash again. ENERGY STAR advanced front-load clothes washers use top of the line systems to spin laundry through reduced streams of water, which can extend the life of your clothing.
- Save a ton of water:
Your old washer could be wasting nearly 30 gallons of water per load—using up to 17 gallons more than with a new ENERGY STAR qualified washer.
- Your dryer will thank you:
Most ENERGY STAR qualified washers feature a better spin cycle, getting more water out of your clothes before they hit the dryer. This means you’ll use less energy on the dry cycle and cut down on drying time.
- Wash with good conscience:
Reduce your overall water consumption with an ENERGY STAR qualified washer and you’ll help protect our nation’s water supply.
Larger loads in less time: Without a large agitator, more usable space is created in newer washers resulting in fewer loads of laundry, less water wasted and more time in your schedule.
Eligibility:
In order to obtain the clothes washer rebate, you must:
- use an electric water heater in your home
- purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washer (visit energystar.gov for a complete list)
- have a home located on Noble REMC lines
Offer can be combined with other state and local rebates. Offer dates are subject to change without notice.
