2013 Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs
Replace resistance electric heat:
Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA), our wholesale power supplier, is offering a $1,500 rebate for replacement of electric resistance heat (baseboard, ceiling cable, electric furnace) from your home. They must be replaced by a high efficiency geothermal system or a dual fuel system (high efficiency gas furnace and air source heat pump) in order to qualify. Replacing an air source heat pump (ASHP) with geothermal is NOT eligible. Replacing an ASHP with a new ASHP qualifies for a $250 rebate.
The goal of the WVPA rebate program is to reduce demand on the electric grid by replacing high demand systems with energy efficient heating and cooling systems.

You can get more information and the rebate application from WVPA at powermoves.com. Once you're on the site, go to For My Home and click on the Learn More link.
PLEASE NOTE: The rebate application is returned to the address on their application, not to Noble REMC.
New home or gas replacement:
In 2013, Noble REMC is continuing to offer a rebate incentive for installation of highly efficient geothermal or air source heat pump systems for new homes or for replacement of propane or gas furnaces.
The rebate amount for qualifying units is:
Geothermal: $150 per ton installed capacity
Air Source: $125 per ton installed capacity.
There is a maximum of ten tons installed capacity and is for residential applications only. Rebates for this program come directly from Noble REMC. For information about qualifying SEER and COP, contact Energy Advisor Rex Shisler at 800-933-7362 or email him at rshisler@nobleremc.com. Applications can be downloaded here.
Some restrictions may apply. Rebates are for systems purchased, installed and paid for in the calendar year 2013.

Refrigerator/Freezer Recycling Program Rebate:
The refrigerator/freezer recycling program introduced in 2011 was so popular it has been renewed for 2013 by Wabash Valley Power Association, our wholesale power supplier.
It is simple to do and helps reduce demand on the electric grid system, potentially reduces your electric bill and is a simple way to get rid of an under-used energy guzzling appliance.
That second refrigerator in the garage or freezer in the basement could be costing you more than you realize. Some experts say old units could use up to five times the energy of new units.
Noble REMC’s appliance recycling program offers our members a quick and easy way to reduce your energy bill. Recycling your old refrigerator or stand-alone freezer is:
Economical: You will receive a $35 rebate on the recycled unit and save energy.
Convenient: The recycling company will schedule a convenient time to pick up your old unit for free.
Environmentally Responsible: 95% of the appliance materials are recycled and hazardous materials are disposed of according to EPA guidelines.
Schedule your appliance pick-up today by clicking on the sign-up graphic (the green box to the right) or by calling 877-395-5535.
